I give private sessions on somatic dialogue, creative process, contemporary dance techniques/ improvisation and in my doctorate field of expressive arts therapy. 

 

From beginners to advanced movers, I design each session privately based on the personal knowledge and needs of the individual.

 

Apart from the open classes private group and one to one classes can be organized. 

In COVID 19 pandemic, I continue my private sessions and supervisions online through zoom and also in person in Moda, Istanbul. 

Somatic Dialogue

This technique is a gentle and soft practice which enables better understanding of one’s own body and movement capacity. It uses mainly hands-on technique and principles of contemporary dance improvisation. 

 

Through the specific and clearly conducted principles of touch, the participants experience a deep connection with their own body. Through one-to-one sessions the person can reach a new level of body control, self awareness, find a way to his/her authentic movements, explore efficient use of energy and the enjoyment of being connected to one’s own imagination through the movement conversation with the other.

Expressive Arts Therapy

Expressive Arts combine the visual arts, movement, drama, music, writing and other creative processes to foster deep personal growth. By integrating the arts processes and allowing one to flow into another, we gain access to our inner resources for healing, clarity, illumination and creativity. 

Expressive arts is based on the premise that we are infused with the gift of imagination.

 

One-to-one sessions enable the individual who feels trapped in a pattern to realize their own resources and access the imagination in a freer flow. This process leads to the enlargement of his/her playing ground.

Contemporary Dance & Improvisation

Contemporary dance is a form that aims to free the body. The improvisation exercises in the class helps the individual in finding their own movement language, discovering their body and adding a new way of self expression. Movement exercises help the participant in understanding their own anatomy and physical connections. This physical consciousness combined with the bodily freedom that is nourished by improvisation enables the person to move in a more holistic way. Classes concentrate on building a better bodily awareness, movement flow, energetic understanding and physical capabilities.
