Uykudan... (from sleep)
Bodig brings forth its bodily interpretation with the performance they designed for the first temporary structure “Sky Spotting Spot” of the YAP Istanbul Modern: Young Architects Program. Through the performance taking place at the garden of Istanbul Modern, the performers are researching and communicating states of dissolving one's self, holding onto life and adjusting through making choices and making decisions about obligations.
This performance took place in the summer of 2013 after the Istanbul Gezi Occupy events.
boDig (Beden Odaklı İfadeler Girişimi), is an Istanbul based arts initiative focusing on the theme of new ways of bodily expression. Its artistic conception is nourished by many disciplines including dance, performance, plastic arts, design, architecture, new media, engineering, medical science... etc. boDig, through its multi-disciplinary understanding, produces theoretical and artistic projects based on the body in the context of contemporary and digital culture.
